Choose a lawn fertilizer labeled for Bermuda and plan feeding around active growth. Soil testing is useful for pH and phosphorus decisions; many Florida lawns do not need added phosphorus. A lawn-care plan should fit your variety, growing conditions and maintenance routine.

Check the label and local rules. A larger bag or a higher nitrogen number is not a reason to apply more.

The nutrient numbers describe the fertilizer’s nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content. They do not tell you whether your lawn needs that product today. Match the label to the grass, use soil-test guidance and follow the rules for the property’s city and county.
